Saudi Arabia can choose to make a historic step in granting entry visas for eleven Israeli eligible players, who – according to what reported by Dror Halavy in Hamodia of Sunday, November 19, 2017 – would have already applied for visas to the Kingdom in order to participate in the King Salman World Rapid & Blitz Chess Championships scheduled to be held in ar-Riyāḍ (Riyadh) from 26 to 30 December 2017. At present an answer is awaited from the Saudi authorities within a short time.
